The event wrapped up the School’s year-long celebrations and fundraising drive in aid of financially needy students. Its various events over the past year such as the NUS Bizad Charity Run in January, NUS Biz50 Charity Golf Challenge in July and the Liang Zhu Charity Concert in October raised more than $1 million.

The School’s Gala Dinner was graced by Guest-of-Honour Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam. In his address, Mr Tharman highlighted the need for Singapore to create an innovative economy and society. The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, emphasised that creativity and innovation can help Singapore earn its place in a constantly changing world.
