Engineering marks 60 years

NUS Engineering celebrated its 60th anniversary with a gala dinner held at the Shangri-La Hotel on 16 October, graced by Guest-of-Honour Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Singapore’s Minister for Communications and Information.

During the dinner, investment holding company 3Fleur Pte Ltd’s Director Mr Seah Cheng San received the Engineering Alumni Service Honours for his efforts in starting a faculty-level endowed bursary fund in 2009. The fund now totals more than $1.8 million and has benefitted 87 students.

Group Executive Chairman of engineering services company Meinhardt (Singapore) Pte Ltd Dr Shahzad Nasim was honoured with the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award. The Award is given to engineering alumni who have distinguished themselves nationally or internationally through excellent and sustained contributions and achievements in public and community service; entrepreneurship; or in a scholarly field.
