Indian PM delivers 37th Singapore Lecture

The Prime Minister of India His Excellency Narendra Modi elaborated on India's Act East Policy at the 37th Singapore Lecture titled "India's Singapore Story, held on 23 November at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. The Lecture was chaired by Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam, with ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute Board Member Professor Tan Tai Yong in attendance. Prof Tan is also Executive Vice President (Academic Affairs) at Yale-NUS College.

The Lecture, organised by the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, was attended by more than 1,000 guests, comprising members of the civil service, business community, diplomatic corps, academic community and media. Among the guests were Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his wife, Madam Ho Ching, Executive Director and CEO of Temasek Holdings; and Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran.

The Singapore Lecture is one of the intellectual highlights of Singapore, which provides a platform for distinguished statesmen and thought leaders to speak on topics of international and regional interest.
