In a Straits Times opinion piece on 15 November, Senior Research Fellow Dr Mathew Mathews and Research Associate Dr Leonard Lim from the Institute of Policy Studies at NUS shared their findings from a recent survey on ethnic identity which showed that Singaporeans’ sense of national identity is independent of their ethnic heritage. Many Singaporeans also rated the ability to speak English as a more important trait of being Singaporean than being able to trace one's ethnic heritage.

Mr Alex Capri, Visiting Senior Fellow at the NUS Business School discussed the new Comprehensive Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership and shared five reasons why multilateral trade deals are preferred over bilateral trade deals in an article contribution on Forbes on 15 November.

In a commentary published in TODAY on 17 November, Associate Professor Hsu Li Yang from the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Historian Dr Loh Kah Seng opined that Singapore is well-placed to tackle antimicrobial resistance with its investment in biomedical research and technology.
