$150m boost for AI, in bid to solve ‘grand challenges’

Professor Ho Teck Hua, NUS Deputy President (Research & Technology) and Tan Chin Tuan Centennial Professor, will lead two new national initiatives - AI.SG and Singapore Data Science Consortium (SDSC). AI.SG will receive funding of up to S$150 million over five years from National Research Foundation to address nationwide issues and help firms adopt artificial intelligence (AI). The SDSC will focus on training businesses to use data science and analytics in their operations, and it will also work closely with AI.SG to develop more advanced AI tools.
