Abuzz over Singapore’s bees

NUS and National Parks Board are collaborating on a research project to document the ecology, local distribution and conservation status of bees in Singapore. The project has so far recorded several new species which reveal that various native solitary and stingless bees are likely the major pollinators for a wide range of locally vulnerable or endangered plant species in forests and mangroves.
