Dr Noeleen Heyzer, a member of the UN Secretary General’s High Level Advisory Board on Mediation and an NUS Board of Trustees member, noted that the crisis in Myanmar’s Rakhine State has seen the fastest refugee exodus anywhere in the world since the Rwanda genocide of 1994.
