Assessing the Earth Summit’s legacy

Prof Tommy Koh, Chairman of the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum at NUS, patron of the Nature Society and Chairman of the Advisory Committee for master’s degree in environmental management, noted that despite daunting challenges, the 1992 Earth Summit produced many landmark principles and agreements on the protection of the environment, the importance of which has grown with time.
