Ban on flavoured cigarettes could curb youth smoking in Singapore

Dr Yvette van der Eijk, Senior Research Fellow at the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, shared that her research found half of the cigarettes sold in Singapore are flavoured with menthol to target young people. She discussed whether a tobacco flavours ban will put retailers out of business, cause illicit cigarette trade, or infringe on people’s right to smoke.
