Budget 2019: What’s in store for businesses, individuals

Assoc Prof (Practice) Simon Poh from the Dept of Accounting at NUS Business School opined that Budget 2019 has one of the shortest list of fiscal measures that will directly impact the taxes paid by businesses and individuals, whether in the form of corporate income tax, personal income tax or good and services taxes. He highlighted the generous Merdeka Generation Package and Bicentennial Bonus for lower-income taxpayers, in contrast to the doubling of excise duty for diesel users.
