Chronic debt hurts ability of the poor in Singapore to make good decisions: Study

A new study by the Social Service Research Centre at the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has revealed that reducing the number of debt accounts lowers the mental burden of the poor, thereby improving psychological and cognitive performance, and enabling better decision-making. The research findings were published in the prestigious journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America.
