Commentary: The benefits of bilingualism go beyond knowing two languages

Assoc Prof Leher Singh from the Dept of Psychology at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Director for the NUS Infant and Child Language Centre, shared that while bilingualism helps us to maintain contact with family and our cultural heritage, it also provides additional benefits that should convince us of its value. These benefits include better focus and creativity; ease in learning new languages; and building of social bonds.
