Writing about gentrification in Singapore, Assoc Prof Pow Choon Piew from the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences opined that planners need to be more interventionist in creating more inclusive forms of urban development and by taking seriously the needs and lifestyle aspirations of diverse groups of residents on the ground.
