Is filial piety a reliable basis of intergenerational support?

Assoc Prof Tan Ern Ser from the Dept of Sociology at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences cited findings of a 2011 social stratification survey that was conducted by the Centre for Family and Population Research at NUS, which revealed that love is a more reliable basis of intergenerational support than filial piety.
