Helping diabetics get to the foot of the problem

FlexoSense, a local company set up by NUS, is working on a shoe insole that uses flexible pressure sensor technology which could help cut the reulceration rate among diabetic patients. The technology was developed in 2016 by Prof Lim Chwee Teck and his team from the Dept of Biomedical Engineering at NUS Faculty of Engineering. The team aims to have the product ready to market in about five years.
