How can we tell if women are discriminated against in the labour market?

Dr Kelvin Seah, Senior Lecturer from the Dept of Economics at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, opined that establishing gender discrimination in the labour market is not easy. However, based on wage data and various experiments that try to tease out attitudes, it would appear that some women do face discrimination in some positions at some stage in the work cycle.
