How incivility in the family can affect work performance

Assoc Prof Sandy Lim from the Dept of Management & Organisation at NUS Business School discussed the findings of a study that she conducted with Kenneth Lai, a former PhD student, on the impact of incivility in the family on work performance. This survey of 200 employees in Singapore revealed that family incivility can create psychological distress at work, resulting in poorer work performance. In addition, employees who have higher self-esteem experienced less family incivility.
