The kampung model is a better way to help the aged with dementia

Louiza Pittas, a medical student with NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Mr Philip Yap, Director of the Geriatric Centre at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, noted that the affordability of formal care services is a real impediment to enabling frail seniors to age in place. They opined that a village model supported by volunteers can help circumvent cost issues and alleviate the unrelenting call for more subsidies.
