Language, dialect heard in infancy never really forgotten, study finds

Assoc Prof Leher Singh from the Dept of Psychology at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences led a study that found language or dialect heard during a child's first few years of life could leave a lasting effect on the brain. Published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, the study also discovered that early exposure to another language does not affect children’s acquisition of English.
