‘Learning should come easily, like breathing’

Harvard University President Prof Drew Faust shared her thoughts on leadership, diversity and change during her recent visit to Singapore. She said she had a great conversation with NUS President Prof Tan Chorh Chuan on 21 March 2017, and was struck by how alike their challenges as well as their thoughts are on so many same issues even though they are 9,000 miles (14,500km) apart. These issues included lifelong education, data science, what undergraduates expect of grading and in general, what students should know to thrive in a future with robots and other forms of pervasive technology.
