Local social enterprises venture abroad to help communities in need

An increasing number of Singapore social enterprises are venturing overseas to improve the lives of the local communities through new products that they have developed or their services. A similar trend was also observed of the participants of events such as the DBS-NUS Social Venture Challenge Asia co-organised by NUS Enterprise and the DBS Foundation, as well as the inaugural “Crossing the Chasm Challenge” organised by the Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy (ACSEP) at NUS Business School last year.
