MOH to consider vaccinating girls against HPV to alleviate risk of cervical cancer

A study conducted by the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, GlaxoSmithKline and Singapore General Hospital found that taking two doses of Cervarix is most cost-effective for protecting girls against human papillomavirus, which causes cervical cancer and genital warts. The study found that compared to medical check-ups, vaccination can help prevent cervical cancer and deaths from the disease.
