Multinational study: Higher intensity chemotherapy can improve recovery rate of child leukaemia patients to 90%

An eight-year study by the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the University of Malaya Medical School, NUH, KKH and two Malaysian hospitals, found that increasing the intensity of chemotherapy for children with leukaemia can improve the recovery rate from 70 per cent to 90 per cent and also cut the recurrence rate from 30 per cent to 13 per cent.
