Navigating between a rock and a hard embrace

Assoc Prof Ja Ian Chong from the Dept of Political Science at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences noted that a key feature of Singapore’s foreign and security policy is its insistence to not “choose sides” between the US and China. However, political dynamics in Asia may ultimately compel Singapore to re-examine its long-held position on external affairs.
