New citizens from 4 core ethnicities more accepted

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS and Channel NewsAsia released the findings of a study on ethnic identity and inter-ethnic interactions. Led by Dr Mathew Mathews, Senior Research Fellow at IPS, the study showed that Singaporeans are more likely to accept new citizens as being "truly Singaporean" if they are of the country's four core ethnic groups.
