New method of analysis can check for dengue and Zika viruses at the same time

Scientists from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)’s Genome Institute of Singapore, together with scientists from Duke-NUS Medical School and A*STAR’s Bioinformatics Institute, have mapped out the structures of four dengue and four Zika viruses. The research team believed that by understanding the genetic structures of the viruses and their related functions, scientists could better develop new drugs and new treatment methods.
