NUS creates beer with probiotic twist

A team of researchers from the Food Science and Technology Programme (FST) at NUS Faculty of Science has created a new sour beer which contains a probiotic strain that can neutralise toxins and viruses, as well as regulate the immune system. The beer is fourth-year student Ms Alcine Chan’s final-year project, and was produced under the supervision of Assoc Prof Liu Shao Quan.
