NUS develops prosthetic heart valve to help patients too weak for open heart surgery

An NUS research team led by Assoc Prof Leo Hwa Liang from the Dept of Biomedical Engineering at NUS' Faculty of Engineering and Asst Prof Jimmy Hon from the Dept of Surgery at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, has developed a novel prosthetic heart valve called VeloX, could be used to treat patients with a severe heart condition known as mitral regurgitation.
