NUS-led research consortium to develop Singapore’s solar forecasting capabilities

The Energy Market Authority has awarded a S$6.2 million research grant to a consortium led by NUS to develop Singapore’s solar forecasting capabilities. Researchers will use techniques in weather prediction, remote sensing, machine learning and grid modelling to improve the accuracy of solar output forecasts and grid management. NUS is also a member of another consortium to build an energy storage system that uses vanadium redox flow technology.
