NUS scientist once cried because she scored a ‘C’ in chemistry

Asst Prof Rufaihah Abdul Jalil of the Dept of Surgery at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, who is also an NUS alumna, runs Granada Academy, a volunteer-run social initiative that aims to attract and encourage more Malay/Muslim students to pursue the field of science. The programme has reached out to more than 800 students since it started in 2011.
