NUS showcases smart protective clothing material that can protect against fire

Asst Prof Chen Po-Yen from the Dept of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NUS Faculty of Engineering and his team have come up with a new technology that can potentially be used to make better protective clothing. By integrating elastomer with structured two-dimensional material films like graphene oxide, they developed a bilayer material that can provide robust barrier protection against chemical solvents and fires.
