NUS Study: ‘Harmless’ organism may be linked to gut woes
Assoc Prof Kevin Tan from the Dept of Microbiology and Immunobiology at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine led a study which discovered that a gut organism previously considered harmless may be linked to gastrointestinal diseases, including colon cancer. The study was conducted between 2017 and 2018, and published in Microbiome journal on 11 March 2019.
