NUS study reveals incidence and clinical outcomes of Nasopharyngeal cancer in multi-ethnic Singapore

Asst Prof Lim Chwee Ming from the Dept of Otolaryngology of the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine conducted a study which found that non-Chinese comprises 15 per cent of the local cohort of Nasopharyngeal cancer patients, and that Malays comprise the main bulk of the non-Chinese patients in Singapore. Non-Chinese are also diagnosed with a more advanced stage of cancer, yet have equivalent successful clinical outcome of treatment compared to Chinese patients.
