NUS study uncovers sale of threatened shark and ray species in Singapore

NUS researchers from the Tropical Marine Science Institute and the Dept of Biological Sciences at NUS Faculty of Science have uncovered that Singapore shops sell the meat, fins and other products derived from endangered and vulnerable species of sharks and rays. The study, conducted together with the Wildlife Conservation Society, has prompted a call for active monitoring of the retail trade and better labelling of products in Singapore.
