A first large-scale study of older caregivers in Singapore by the Centre for Ageing Research and Education (Care) based in Duke-NUS Medical School found that nearly half of all caregivers in Singapore are aged 55 and older. The study polled 1,190 caregivers of Singaporeans and permanent residents aged 75 and older who have problems with at least one activity of daily living.
