Prof Asit K. Biswas, Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS, and Mr Julian Kirchherr, doctoral researcher from the School of Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford discussed the absence of professors from shaping public debates and policies and how the problem seems to have exacerbated in recent years, particularly in social sciences.
