Dr Chan Cheow Thia from the Department of Chinese Studies at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences wrote about Singapore’s pioneer Chinese writer Lu Baiye, and how two of his works provide a valuable insight into how life was in Singapore in the first half of the 20th century.
