Real estate and the destiny of Chinese society

Prof Zheng Yongnian, Director of the East Asian Institute at NUS, noted the worrying trend of a real estate bubble in China that has made housing out of reach in first-tier cities. He opined that Chinese citizens have lost faith in the real estate market due to the government’s failure to implement effective regulatory measures.
