Singapore develops first energy-saving ‘textile’ capable of transmitting signals

Asst Prof John Ho and his team from NUS Institute for Health Innovation & Technology and NUS Faculty of Engineering have invented a “smart” textile that could conduct radio waves such as Bluetooth and WiFi on the surface of clothing. The grey conductive textile can create a wireless body sensor network that allows devices to transmit data with a signal 1,000 times stronger than that of conventional technologies.
