Singapore today: An egalitarian approach to tax

Assoc Prof Nitin Pangarkar from the Dept of Strategy and Policy at NUS Business School highlighted that it is important to look beyond direct income taxes and tax rates when examining tax policy. He opined that the Singapore government has become increasingly egalitarian by helping lower-income groups through extensive subsidies in the areas of housing, public transport, education and healthcare.
