South East Asian militants may launch attack to show IS still exists

Assoc Prof Bilveer Singh from the Dept of Political Science at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences noted that the main factor for the existence of various ‘jihad’ groups in Southeast Asia and across the globe was their ability to quickly recruit new leaders after their death at anti-terror operations. This is true for Al-Qaeda and IS as well as jihadist groups in Southeast Asia such as Jemaah Islamiyah and Abu Sayyaf.
