Supervisors who have to fake being nice to customers take it out by abusing their staff: NUS Business School study

A study by Asst Prof Sam Yam from the Dept of Management and Organisation at NUS Business School, found that the mentally draining task of faking one's emotions to adhere to certain workplace policies, such as giving customers "service with a smile", can make supervisors more abusive to their subordinates.
