Ten-fold increase in number of people who have pledged their bodies in the past five years

The NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine has resumed the use of cadavers for medical teaching and research two years ago after a 10-year hiatus. Assoc Prof Ng Yee Kong from the Dept of Anatomy at NUS Medicine noted that the demand for cadavers, known as ‘silent mentors,’ has increased, and they provide medical students and young doctors with invaluable learning experience.
