Tommy Koh: British colonial rule of Singapore '60 per cent good and 40 per cent bad'

At the Tembusu Forum titled “Singapore and the United Kingdom: 1819 to 2019”, Ambassador-At-Large Prof Tommy Koh appraised British colonial rule of Singapore to be 60 per cent “good” and 40 per cent “bad”. Other speakers at the event included Prof John Miksic, Dept of Southeast Asian Studies at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; Mr Kennie Ting, Director of Asian Civilisations Museum; and His Excellency Scott Wightman, High Commissioner of the British High Commission, Singapore.
