Why employment regulations sometimes have unintended effects on workers

Assoc Prof Jussi Keppo from NUS Business School discussed the findings of his study on employment regulations, which showed that because of employment protection, some companies may not be incentivised to hire new workers. Instead, they might rather relocate their operations elsewhere or just accelerate the firing process.
