Why it is difficult to recruit students for Department of Chinese Studies at NUS

Prof Kenneth Dean, Head of the Department of Chinese Studies at NUS discussed the low enrolment figure at the Department and opined that this could be due to limited employment prospects for graduates from the programme and the diminished importance of Mandarin in Singapore society.
