A durian feat not to be sniffed at
Prof Teh Bin Tean, Academic Vice Chair (Research) at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) and also Deputy Director (Research) at National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), Prof Patrick Tan and Dr Yong Chern Han, Research Fellow, both from the Cancer and Stem Cell Biology Programme at Duke-NUS, together with Mr Cedric Ng, Senior Research Associate from NCCS have completed a genetic map of Durio zibethenus, the only durian species sold commercially, called Musang King (Mao Shan Wang in Chinese). A paper on their study was published online in the prestigious journal Nature Genetics on 9 October 2017.
