A nudge for S'poreans to counter racial prejudice

Dr Mathew Mathews from the Institute of Policy Studies at NUS explained his proposal to the Constitutional Commission on the Elected Presidency, where he called for safeguards for minority representation in the Elected Presidency. His hope is that if there is a need to use the provisions of a safeguard to ensure the representation of any racial group in the presidency, it will be used only once and as a stop-­gap measure.
