Adding value without demolition, rebuilding: Regenerating Singapore’s modernist icons
Assoc Prof Chang Jiat Hwee from the Dept of Architecture at NUS School of Design and Environment and Mr Ho Weng Hin, a partner at Studio Lapis, an architectural conservation specialist consultancy, opined that Singapore’s modernist icons such as Pearl Bank, Golden Mile Complex and People’s Park Complex could be creatively conserved and rehabilitated, in ways that benefit all stakeholders.
