Asean's South China Sea conundrum

Assoc Prof Victor R. Savage, Adviser to the Office of Alumni Relations at NUS, discussed how the South China Sea contestations have brought Asean into direct diplomatic headwinds with China. He opined that for a region with bitter after-taste of Western colonisation, the Chinese marine territorial annexation is neo-colonialism in disguise and unbecoming of Marxist ideals.
